04 Oct Children’s Oral Health Access Initiative Awarded $10,000 Grant
All-Star Smiles Foundation “Children’s Oral Health Access Initiative” was awarded a $10,000 grant from Allegany Franciscan Ministries. This funding will go to the purchase of two portable dental units. Why are portable dental units important? All-Star Smiles Foundation broadened our scope of services – we can perform sealants on-site/remotely now, instead of just offering screenings & fluoride treatments.
This funding from Allegany Franciscan Ministries enables All-Star Smile Foundation to expand its existing capacity, so that true impact can occur in order to scale to the true need that exists.
About Our Partner
Allegany Franciscan Ministries is a non-profit Catholic organization that seeks to improve the overall health of individuals by increasing access to health services and information.
Allegany Franciscan Ministries grew out of the health care ministries of the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany, New York, and is a member of Trinity Health. It provides grants to organizations in the three regions of Florida formerly served by the Sisters’ hospitals: Miami-Dade County, Palm Beach, Martin and St. Lucie Counties, and the Tampa Bay area of Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties. Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, Allegany Franciscan Ministries has invested $92 million to over 1550 organizations serving those most in need in these communities. Its annual community investment budget averages about $6 million.
In addition to awarding grants, Allegany Franciscan Ministries’ staff and volunteers work collaboratively with community partners and other funders to create healthier, safer and more connected places where the most vulnerable residents can live, learn, work, and play.
We, Allegany Franciscan Ministries and Trinity Health, serve together in the spirit of the Gospel as a compassionate and transforming healing presence within our communities.
